Card Valet Now Available

Jan 29, 2018 by SCU

Access.  Control.  Anytime.  Anywhere.

SCU is pleased to launch Card Valet  -  an app that provides a fast and simple way to turn your SCU Visa Credit cards and SCU Debit cards on or off!  You can also set restrictions on card-related transactions and set limits for spending.  This is a great feature for parents and employers who need to control their finances.  For additional information, see the FAQs below and click here for a short video.

How do I access Card Valet?

There is a link is in the SCU Mobile app, taking you to Card Valet (available in the Google and Apple stores). However, Card Valet is a separate, stand-alone app with separate login credentials.

What if I can't login or I forget my user name or password for Card Valet?
In the app, there is a “Forgot Password” link, after “Login.” You will need to enter your username to reset your password. To retrieve your username, or if locked out, contact SCU.

Does Card Valet replace SCU's Travel Notification Form?
No, Card Valet is a stand-alone, SCU Debit and Credit Card alerting and restricting system only. You will still need to report any travel plans via our online form by clicking here. Please note, if you regularly use the restrictions feature to limit spending (for instance, no transactions outside of SC) and plan to travel, remember to adjust your settings accordingly.

Can I report my SCU card lost or stolen using Card Valet?
No, Card Valet is a stand-alone SCU Debit and Credit Card alerting and restricting system only.  If your card is lost or stolen, turn off your SCU card via Card Valet, and please report the lost or stolen card as soon as possible to 1-800-868-8740.

Will recurring transactions be blocked if the card is turned off or if a restriction is set?
No, Card Valet will not block recurring transactions. The on/off feature and transaction restriction features are for one-time, non-recurring transactions only.

Can I have two SCU Credit or Debit cards on my Card Valet app?
Yes, multiple SCU cards can be monitored. For instance, parents can receive alerts, and set limits on children’s cards, etc.  Alerts are only sent to the person (mobile device) who setup the alerts.  Limits/restrictions are individually set on each card.

SCU is committed to making our members' financial lives easier.  If you have any questions about Card Valet, please call us at 1-800-868-8740.  We are happy to assist you.
